SLC results by ‘Wednesday’ Office of the Controller of Examinations not to publish them on newspapers

  • KATHMANDU, JUN 10 -

The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) is planning to publish this year’s School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exam results by Wednesday.
According to Deputy Examination Controller Prahlad Aryal, marks obtained by the examinees have been entered in the system, which is being proof-read. “We need to recheck the entered marks at least twice,” he said, adding that the verification process will complete in a couple of days.
The OCE is preparing to provide 5 marks as grace for a maximum of two subjects.
The OCE has said it will not publish the results in newspapers citing budget constraints. However, the newspapers can publish them if they make it free of cost. The results can be accessed from more than seven websites and through SMS.
A total of 547,165 students sat the 79th iteration of the SLC exams held on March 13-24 earlier this year. Of them, 4 30,097 are regular and 117,068 are exempted students.
The OCE had set up 1,786 exam centres across the country with an equal number of superintendents and 2,655 assistant superintendents. Similarly, 21,890 invigilators, 7,297 peons and 19,860 security personnel were mobilised for the exams. The answer sheets were marked at 60 centres under tight vigilance.
