LPG TRADERS THREATEN TO INTERRUPT SUPPLY

KATHMANDU, JUNE 27 - The LPG traders for domestic purpose have urged the government to double the commission. They have demanded to provide them five percent of investment per cylinder as commission.
The government had already raised the commission from Rs. 30 to Rs. 32 per cylinder effective from last Monday. Meanwhile the traders are asking for Rs. 72 as commission citing that the amount hiked by government was too little to operate the business.
Nepal Gas Dealers Federation has threatened the government to interrupt the gas supply unless their demands are addressed. In addition, they have challenged the government that if the government shows dilly-dally on their by 9th July they will even bring the distribution of consumer card to halt. Simultaneously, they will declare the following agitation programs.
Some time ago, the gas had compelled the government to address their demands by interrupting the supply. The government raised the commission of entrepreneurs’ by19 rupees. With this hike the commission for entrepreneurs reached 47 rupees.
The Gas Dealers Federation has expressed its dissatisfaction on this regard too. The federation accused the entrepreneurs of injustice. The federation has accused the entrepreneurs of pressuring the government to hike commission on their favor.
